- To
the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.
- I
waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined to
me, and heard my cry.
- And
he drew me up from the gruesome pit, out of the
miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and made
my footsteps secure.
- And
he has put a new song in my mouth, praise to our
God; many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust
in the Lord.
- Happy
is the man who makes the Lord his trust, and does
not turn to the proud, nor to those who go astray
after lies.
- Many,
O Lord my God, are your wonderful works which you
have done, and your thoughts which are toward us;
none can compare with you; if I would declare and
tell of them, they would be more than can be
numbered.
- You
do not desire sacrifice and offering; you have dug
open my ears; you have not required burnt offering
and sin offering.
- Then
I said, behold, I come; in the scroll of the book
it is written about me,
- I
delight to do your will, O my God; your Torah is
in my heart.
- I
have preached righteousness in the great
congregation; behold, I did not refrain my lips, O
Lord, you know.
- I did
not hide your righteousness in my heart; I have
declared your faithfulness and your salvation; I
have not concealed your loving kindness and your
truth from the great congregation.
- Do
not withhold, O Lord, your compassion from me; let
your loving kindness and your truth continually
preserve me.
- For
innumerable evils have surrounded me; my
iniquities have overtaken me, so that I am not
able to see; they are more than the hairs of my
head; therefore my heart fails me.
- Be
pleased, O Lord, to save me; O Lord, make haste to
help me.
- Let
those who seek after my soul to destroy it be
altogether ashamed and confounded; let those who
wish me evil be turned back and put to shame.
- Let
those who say to me Aha, aha, be appalled, because
of their shame.
- Let
all those who seek you rejoice and be glad in you;
let those who love your salvation say continually,
The Lord be magnified.
- But I
am poor and needy; yet the Lord takes thought for
me; you are my help and my savior; delay not, O my
God.
