Psalms Chapter 127

1. A Song of Maalot for Solomon. Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain; unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain!
2. It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of toil; for truly to his beloved he gives sleep!
3. Behold, children are a heritage of the Lord; and the fruit of the womb is a reward!
4. As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are the children of one’s youth!
5. Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them; they shall not be put to shame, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate!
