RAFI AND THE RABBI

Poor Rafi approached his Rebbe. “Rebbe, I have no money to support my family; I have to marry off my daughter and my wife’s health is ailing. What should I do?
“Please give me a blessing for parnassah, livelihood”, Rafi pleaded.
The Rebbe began to meditate and was deep in thought when suddenly he opened his eyes and declared, “Rafi, I bless you that you should win in the state’s lottery! I will pray for you that you win!”
Rafi somewhat relieved warmly thanked the Rebbe and looked forward for better days to come.
One week later Rafi appeared before the Rebbe. With a dejected look, Rafi reported that he did not win the lottery.
Concerned, the Rebbe offered Rafi some encouraging words and once again conferred his blessing and assured him that he will increase his prayers on Rafi’s behalf to win in the coming week’s lottery.
But the following week Rafi meekly knocked on the Rebbe’s door. Upon seeing Rafi, the Rebbe lit up with a smile and inquired, “Nu, so you won the lottery”?
With a disappointed look on his face, Rafi replied, “No, Rebbe. I did not win the lottery” and began to bemoan his fate, pleading with the Rebbe, “Can’t the Rebbe help me?”

The Rebbe was crestfallen. Whenever he blessed someone and prayed for them, it was fulfilled.
The Rebbe began thinking out loud, “I don’t understand, Rafi bought a ticket to the lottery and didn’t win? How can that be?”
Rafi interrupted the Rebbe’s musings and exclaimed, “No Rebbe, I didn’t buy the ticket. The Rebbe never told me to buy a ticket. The Rebbe assured me that I would win.”
The Rebbe gently reprimanded Rafi. “My dear Rafi, if you don’t purchase a ticket, how can you possibly win; all my blessings and assurances can only work if you do yours and buy a ticket.”

By February 7th, this opportunity will be history.
Nu, so what are you waiting for? Purchase a ticket so you have at least a CHANCE to win the $100,000 Grand Prize. Don’t be like Rafi the Raffle Loser!
You say $100 is too much? How about $10? For $10 a month over the next 10 months you can have a chance at the grand prize. Call fax or email the yeshiva for your chance to win $100,000.
